How much wet food should my 9 week old English Mastiff eat.

Hello All,

Hi, i prefer for my boy to eat wet food over dry. How much wet food should he be eating and how many times per day?

I'm thinking a tin and a half a day of some good stuff, half a tin 3 times a day. He seems to go through it pretty fast and goes back to his bowel for more, thats after he has eaten half a tin.

He is a big chap, nearly 10 weeks old, 33lbs.

Thank you

Regards

George.

What are the reasons you prefer wet over dry?

Besides the fact that wet dog food can wreck havoc to a dogs teeth... it is also usually high in protein which isnt good for giant breeds. I would recommend dry dog food... plus... its cheaper

Hello,

Thanks for the response.

Well, i just bought a huge bag of good quality dry food and he doesn't even go near it, i gave him a tin of Wellness for Puppy and he loved it. The teeth thing I'm not concerned about as ive had a dog before for 13 years all he ate was wet food, no problems at all. Wet food i just feel its a more natural option and cost I'm not too worried about, just want him to be healthy, perhaps i will take another look at some dry food.

Thank you.
