Is it weird that I have "size envy" of those of you with pure DDBs? :-)

It's true- DDBs come in a variety of sizes. Mateo is right smack in the middle of his parents' weight (sire was 160; dam was 120- and Mateo is 140. He's is good shape, and as big as I had hoped...

That said, if Mateo ended up being 100 pounds I wouldn't care a whit----these guys' personality and endearing characteristics...and most important, temperament are really what matters.

I hear squirrel is a delicacy. Do you know how to prep it and cook it? Or maybe he's telling you he wants to go to a raw diet and he'll supplement.

DDSK - I would think that grilled would be better... too much fat in fried foods. I vote on preparing the squirrel in a more healthy culinary manner.
