kong bed

Has anyone bought one of the Kong bed for their pup? They have one with a soft top and one with just the canvas feel(not sure what it's made of) all over it. Since it's $60 I want to see if they were actually durable before buying.

I have the soft one, large size since she was a pup and still have it, she is not a chewer though so i dont know if she was if it would have survived.

An ex-friend of mine had one, her dog just peed on it numerous times & she never washed it. Gross. I don't know about their durability though. Duchess isn't a chewer so she's using my old EM's bed. Is that morbid?

thats really gross! I wash Hera bet every week or so i cant stand the smell she chews her antlers and bully sticks on it and it gets really stinky! There is another bed its called K9 ballistics and if your dog manages to chew it you send pictures and they send u a new one, that might be worth it although they r more expensive than kong i think.

i have the Kong bed that is the canvas material. Bought them last year at christmas time and they have held up pretty good. Wally our CC has ripped up the bottom of the beds a little and I think he has put a tiny hole in the top of one. They have held up better than most since it will be a year that they have survived :) The only thing that I don't like about the beds is the bag inside that holds the stuffing, if it needs replaced which ours has the zipper to open the bag inside is only about 6" which makes it hard to remove the old stuffing and replace with new. My only other complaint is or CC Wally is a "nester" and by doing his nesting he seems to have ripped the bag inside of the bed that holds the stuffing.

Wowsa! The k9 one looks and sounds amazing but it's double the price and the warranty is only 90 days:( Hmmm maybe we will start with the Kong and see how far it gets us. Bentley will only be 8 weeks old when we bring him home saturday so I just can't see him doing too much damage at that age...........

Bought Briggs one of the big ones, soft side. He loves it. He is not a chewer, but he does scratch at it sometimes, when he is worked up and playing. It has held up pretty good so far...and I do wash it. ;)

Thanks, I am thinking we will go with the soft, I am glad to hear they are durable. We are making our first trip to Petsmart tomorrow, mostly to window shop and get more food and a ID tag

We have 2 of the canvas type pillow ones. Both my Rott/Shep Elliott and CC Rolex love them and they resist hair sticking to them which is essential with the Rott/Shep. They are also stain resistant and pretty chew resistant. Roly my CC has chewed on both of them but I haven't seen any damage yet, although he is only on the beds for 30 mins at the longest. The only issue was that they were a little poofy at first so Elliott didn't use them until Roly flattened them a little, also Roly tended to use them like a moon bounce at first and kept rolling off.

Here are pics of Roly on each of them at 8 weeks and 15 weeks old respectively (I can't seem to get the one pic right side up lol):

I know this is an older thread but my CC Gino who is 11 weeks and 2 days has the soft top Kong bed. He somehow got to the zipper tore it off and went straight for the stuffing. The outside is still ok but we will probably be needing to get the zipper fixed before he gets to use it again. By the way, it was on sale at Petsmart for $29. That was two weeks ago though.
