3/4 looks to girly for a big dog so I would probably go with the 1 inch but strength wise I would hey a Chain leash

You may find 1 inch uncomfortably wide to hold onto. The one I have for Apollo is thick leather but only 1/2 inch wide. Both my husband and I find it cmfortable to use and grip. We have a 1inch wide webbing leash and its not comfortable to grab if we need extra control. I have tiny hands and my husband has large hands. The thicker leather means its very strong. Apollo has hit the end of it hard a few times and it didn't feel like it was giving at all.

I have a 1 inch wide leather leash for my corso. I don't find it uncomfortable to hold, however, our leash is 13 years old and it nice and broken in. I have small hands and my husband and I both feel we have good control with this size. I've tried smaller widths, but I felt like it was cutting into my skin.

I have a dainty one that is about 1/4 in that I can use on my corsi (have had it for my rotties and never snaped or had an issues) but we also have 1/2 in and 1 in leather. 15 and 30 ft nylon as well. I haven't had any issues with my leather ones (provided the leather maker is good) but I have had clasps break:(

My daily use leash for my CC's and EM is a 6' x 1/4" leather leash with a brass clip. I even use it when walking two or three TRAINED dogs on a brace. I use a 6' x 1" leather leash when doing agitation work and protection training. I never use nylon leashes, can slice your hands like a paper cut, and a chain leash just looks too "ghetto" and indicates, to me anyway, UNTRAINED dog.

I think it depends on what you're comfortable with. We use 2" nylon leashes, all matching, but our dogs are EXTREMELY docile on a leash. And, I've been known to walk 5 or 6 untrained golden retrievers at once; so 3 laid back bullmastiffs are nothing. I worry more about the quality of the collar. If the collar stretches out, they can back out & they don't even have tags to help find their way back home. Our dogs wear their collars at all times, and wear chokers when walking.

When I walk I use a 2 in leather flat collar with a show collar with all his tags...

You don't mean a show-choke collar for the tags I hope? Leaving a choke on your dog is a good way to kill your him. Apollo's tags are on a buckle style rolled leather collar, we use either a prong collar or a webbing martingale to attach the leash to depending on the situation.

This is kronos normal walking collar set up I don't have to worry about him going anywhere with my 3/4 in traffic lead hooked up... I would just always make sure there from a good place petsmart is not a proper place for a leather lead

I absolutely hate nylon leashes and my dog is trained to walk on a leash

That I ageee with, I got mine at a locally owned place, and its MUCH better than the ones I've seen at Petco ot Petsmart.

The only reason I have a chain leash at all is Arty chews on them the second you turn your attention away, so my 30lb dog is walked on a chain leash and my 100+lb dog on leather or nylon....gets us odd looks on occasion.
