So Lillie's been in agility class for 3 weeks now. It's hilarious because she seems to really like it, but she's pretty sloooowwwwww. The first video is at the beginning of class when she's still got a little pep in her step, and he second is at the end when we do a little mini course. After an hour, there's not quite as much wag in the tail, but she does the whole thing willingly, so we are going to stick with it and see how she does!

Thanks! I think she's doing great, too! It's just so funny to watch her compared to the border collies and terriers and the standard poodle in class... She does everything she's asked, she works the entire time, I know she enjoys herself or she would just plant her butt on the floor and look at me like "you've got to be kidding", but the difference in energy level cracks everyone up, lol. One of the reasons I never did agility was because *I* didn't want to run around, guess that's not gonna be an issue!

She reminds me of that one video of the full grown mastiff running the agility course. Not the best time, but he got out there and did it all. I think she's doing great and the others probably love having a mastiff in the group. She is so beautiful and smart.

Thank you! I try to keep her pretty lean. I think she's going to be really pretty and BIG when she fills out.

    Love it!
I do get the feeling that she's doing this just because she loves YOU, though... makes me wonder how you could boost her enthusiasm for the sport itself a little more... Of course, I've often wondered how to get Denna to move faster doing things I ask her to do, too.... so I'm no help, there. HA!!

She's got a beautiful physique, too! Gorgeous Puppy!!

Yes! That's a little bit what I'm wondering, too? But if she doesn't want to do something, she makes no bones about planting her butt, no matter how much I want her to do whatever, so I just don't know... She definitely likes agility more than obedience and she likes nosework more than either. But that said, she gets worn out from anything pretty quickly... There just doesn't seem to be anything SHE loves.

I wonder if my fat boy could learn? I built an agility course for my son's pit. She loves the hoop jump and hurdles. Maybe I'll make a few pieces for Max and if he isn't interested...my lab would enjoy something new to do!

I took our bulldog rescue pup to agility classes... I had to really work on finding a good motivator for him - turns out it was chicken! I would cook up and dice a chicken breast just before class, and use that for his treats to get him moving. He became HIGHLY motivated when the chicken came out... and actually... he started paying better attention to me pretty much ALL the time after that. It was a big turning point in our relationship (unfortunately not enough to get him to stop attacking our other dog... but... it still was fun while it lasted).

Denna's more like Lillie, though... she'll have fun doing things a few times, but then is ready to move on to something else... or just supervise for a while... or take a nap... :)

2 months later and the end of level 2 agility. She'll never be the fastest, but she is really enjoying it!

Look at this girl go now! This is our first class held outdoors with the full sized agility equipment; first try at the tire and real dog walk. She loves it and I actually had to hold her back from the tire when she saw it for the first time. She loves that thing! She's running through the tunnels, knew exactly what to do when she saw the dog walk... So much fun!Agility(4) - YouTube

She loves it! She is such a good girl. Now if I could just get her to love obedience as much...
