I've been checking out breeders, but it seems quite a few are either just breeding for size or turn out to be unscrupulous BYBs, or breeding 'hard' dogs that would require a hard$#@! alpha 24/7.
I had a mastiff mix before who I suspect was part presa, since all the pres/pit mixes I've seen look like his twin, and I never had to be a harcore alpha with him, though I didn't take no for an answer. Example: I got him at about 17 months old, and the first three weeks I had him I had to pick him up and put him in the crate before he finally gave in an thereafter would go in at the 'bedtime' command.
After that training was easy, though he did test me a few times. Then he was a big puppy.
It's hard to tell who's really producing good presas. Anyone here have any experience with a Canadian breeder? I'd rather not have to go home to the US to get a good one.
