Lures, fav chase toys

Cruiser loves to stalk, hunt and fetch. I would love to begin teaching him to retreive lures, does anyone have a favorite item that their dog absolutely goes wild to fetch? A friend brought their choc lab over with his fav duck lure and they spent the entire day fetching. His dog was so impressive with retrieving, switching, patience, etc. I know thats a retriever trait, but Cruiser actually after a few throws began to copy her actions and would only do what she did when she did it. If that makes sense! He hunts like a cat, fetches like a retriever, and guards like a doberman.....I don't know that he knows what exactly his job is! LOL

Titan's fav lure toy is his cold, wet wash cloth. He goes crazy. I throw it and he fetches and brings it back to me.

Denna has a few favorites. Since her reward for brining back a toy is a short game of tug, she favors her "rope ball" (which has a nice loop handle for me to grab), or one of the retriever buoys, which has a 1' length of leash material for me to grab.

I need to work with her more - she loves to chase the toy and bring it back, but I think it's more for a game of tug than the act of retrieving... but, she does "drop" the toy when I ask, and it gets her some good exercise, so I haven't moved on to the next phase of training... yet...

We've been using two toys, a jollyball with a rope through it and a huge tennis ball with a knotted rope handle and he does pretty well with them. He has gotten sit, wait, release, bring it back and need alot of work on drop it. He is so excited and has a hard time keeping still before I release him to fetch the toys. He gets bored with the balls after about four throws. He was more interested in the lure that our friend brought with his dog. I guess I need to find one of those weird disconnected ducks with the scent spray.

Kryten has no interest in playing fetch or chasing anything other than another dog. He does enjoy standing behind/over Jiggers when he is waiting for the ball to be thrown however.
