This is the 1st Cane Corso for me. We had bred pit bulls for over 10 years in the past. I have read that these dogs grow in height for the 1st year, then fill out until the age of 3 years old. Now my problem. Our pup is 13 weeks old and had began "humping" my kids and other people. Is this natural at this early of an age? I have never experienced it at this young of a pup.

My 10 week old female humps on occasion. We just discourage it by saying no and redirecting her to a toy if we can. This is our first Corso so maybe someone else with experience will chime in

Humming from a female dog is a sign of dominance

Leo at about 12 weeks did it a few times to a stuffed animal. After that we have not seen any more of the "sexy dance".

You definitely have a dominant female on your hands don't be surprised if she starts to lift her leg as well...I've had a few over the years...

I never new females did this. My boy tries it from time to time but I promptely remove my legs from his grasp and tell him NO.

My female use to hump her toys as a young pup, still on occasion does. I don't correct her, but, she has also never attempted to hump me, or another person. She has tried to hump other dogs. I don't roughly correct her, but I do tell her no and get her off. This works well for me. I wouldn't be alarmed, but definitely let your pup know you don't approve

Thanks for the help guys. We don't let her do it, we get up and ignore her because she only does it when we lay on the ground with her. I have seen her do it to another dog, should we correct it?
