I know at least a few folks on here have had problems with their dogs jumping out the window of a moving vehicle. And I'm sure all of us worry about how far to leave the windows down when we have to leave the dogs in the car for a quick run into the store (or just go way out of our way to avoid it). Or even just worry about road debris getting kicked up into an open window.
I recently ran across these: Breeze Guard Car Window Screens / Wire Mesh Barrier - Set of Two (I don't think I posted them here though, couldn't find them when I looked anyway).
Not cheap, but they look reasonably sturdy. Though I doubt they'd hold back a mastiff (of any kind) who was hell bent on getting at the person on the other side. But they look sturdy enough to keep even the big guys inside for every day use.
