Wow. Very impressive! Do you follow the same process for the dogs that you do for the humans? You spoke of caliper measurements - that must be up close and personal work for the dogs and the people.

I'm surprised Mateo's big dome isn't on your website! Then again...a big dome like that would probably take twice as long :p

Your work is simply amazing, I'm glad CR bullied you into sharing :D

Thanks, all...I really appreciate the positive feedback. :)

I do intend to sculpt Mateo- I have been waiting for him to grow into his adult, "big boy" head. Well, he's almost 3, so what I see now is probably what it is. And it is big; I'll probably scale it down in size, 'cause that's a lot of clay, lol. He will be fun to sculpt...

CeeCee- I do use caliper measurement for humans- not so much for dogs. I usually don't have as much personal contact with them; or if I do, calipers would scare them, or make them nervous. I usually use photographs- whatever I can get. Better if I can take the photos myself, but that's not the norm.

Mary- I would love to sculpt one of your corsos!

*Note: If anyone is interested in a custom sculpture of their beautiful dog (or human family member)...just pm me.

Amazing pieces, I'm terrible with 3D artwork. Painting and drawing does it for me. For lack of an artistic term, what do you use for the 'dark and shiny' sculptures, if you don't mind me asking? They look like their cast out of iron, ahah!

I will forever envy your artistic talent.

Thank you so much.

Probably the sculptures you are referring to are the ones cast in sterling silver. They were created in clay, made a mold, then cast in the silver. That's how I do almost everything: clay sculpt; mold, then cast in some more rigid material. I do not cast in sterling anymore, however (unless the client has unlimited funds)- it's just so expensive.
