Need help identifying her breed

I got her about a month ago from a friend who got her from the pound and wasn't sure of her breed he thought Pitbull and golden retriever but wasn't 100% sure. Someone told me she looks like a pitbull mastiff mix and after reading online about the breed i think thats what she is but i could use some experienced feedback. Thanks

To be honest my first thought looking at the picture was that she is a Shepard mix. Her muzzle looks to long for a mastiff pit mix to me. Her head does remind me of my parents dog who we believe to be a Belgian malnois pit mix.
That said mixes can be very hard to determine based on appearance sometimes.

I've vote shepherd/golden lab/x
I don't see much pit in their, either.

DNA tests are notoriously iffy... and if the DNA test comes back positive for "pit bull type breed"... you'd have proof, which might get the dog evicted from certain areas and activities. I'd stick with "shepherd mix" which would minimize the BSL potential.

Ya I'm not seeing pit there or really mastiff either. I would guess shepherd and lab but the only way to pin it down more is a DNA test. :) But DennasMom is absolutely right that if you have proof the pup is part pit you might end up facing BSL issues. Your dog doesn't really look pit to me at all so you may be able to avoid those issues altogether just by sticking with shepherd mix.

Same here, the dog looks like a Shepard mix. Snout is too long for Mastiff/Pitbull.

DeannasMom has a very good point about the Breed Specific Legislation (BSL), it could complicate your life to say or register your dog as a pitbull mix.

I used to have a lab/husky mix and we always called him a “lab mix” because some landlords wouldn’t allow huskies.

If you do a DNA test, do you HAVE to disclose that information when you register your dog?
