Neo Mastiff/Cane Corso mix 13 weeks old is a biter

My 13 week old mastiff mix is biter and it is driving me insane! We just started puppy class last week and are teaching him "off" but it doesn't seem to be working. He lunges and bites my feet, legs, shoes, pants and my hands and arms if they get in the way. I feel like I am doing something wrong!!!

When you figure this out let me know !!! I have a 16 w.o Dogue De Bordeaux that bites all the time (understandably teething but still annoying). He also will start biting me on our walks out of the blue, he'll be fine for 30 mins then spend 5 mins trying to bite my ankles and feet, then go bakc to being fine, almost like he is bipolar.

When puppy bites you can 'yelp' loudly then get up and walk away. He doesnt get to play if he bites. everytime he bites, get up and walk away from him and ignore him. You can come back and play with him after a few min. He'll soon catch on that biting means he doesnt get to play with you. What age did you get the pup?

This and make sure you're giving them lots of things they can chew. For teething, cheap frozen washcloths work great.

Ditto to Smart_Family and k_hodges. They need to chew, give them other alternatives than your body. :)

My almost 17 week old Neo/EM cross "Gypsy" is a total bi polar land shark too! She has gotten better because she has done it since day 1. (She is super good 80% of the time...very sweet.) When she is in the mind set the "act like a tree" thing is insane because she just acts like a beaver! lol. She also could care less if we squeal, moan ouch, yelp or any other reaction...she only calms down when we hold her (55lbs worth) or hug on her and talk very softly to settle her excitement OR put her in time out in the crate (being very careful to close the door on a happy good note to keep it her sanctuary!!). I did notice that she takes several 2+ hour naps in the day and will act out when she is tired. I think that Mastiffs are sometimes a little stubborn and difficult to train...my Dobie NEVER bit as a puppy...it just takes time and finding out what works for your pup...don't worry too much... just try to keep your cool and stick to your guns with which ever method you choose.

Oh that is just too cute ... I have a EM and when he was teething and would bite me I would just say 'No biting' and find his stuffy and stick it in his mouth...he out grew it and never bites.

This. I get my "alpha" voice as deep as I can go and I say no then hand her a toy and immediately say good girl when she starts to chew on it instead of me. My bb is twelve weeks and generally will lick you to death when she wants to chew on you. Now it is just a matter of her figuring out wich toys are hers and wich are my daughters.
