My question is about Entropin. Gunther my Neo is going on 3 years old in December. He is a big boy. Very tall (haven't measured) and 190lbs. His upper eyelids definitely contribute to his eyes crusties. This only happens when he sleeps though and he doesn't show any signs of irritation nor does his eyes look red or swollen, he doesn't squint either. I routinely clean his eyes and remove all the gunk. My question is, is this normal as a result of sleeping, since the eyes are closed? Should this also be an issue when his eyes are open? He doesn't seem to be bothered, but I also want to do the best for my kid. Again he doesn't display any symptoms other than crusty eyes. Thanks for reading my post and sorry if this issue has been addresses adnaseum. Just knew I had specific questions relating to this. :lolbangtable:

Welcome. I used to foster a one and a half year old neo before I got my boy and he had sort of the same problem however his eyes would crust during awake time also. I think he had an extreme cases of entropin but the funny thing is that it never seemed to bother him. We had to constantly clean his eyes and even put ointment in his eyes. We finally found a good home for him and I think the new owner opted to have surgery to try to correct the problem. I'm not sure of the outcome as we lost touch.

I would really love to see pictures of your neo...mine is 5 months old

Our last dog had an eyelash that grew in and irritated his eye for a while - leading to lots of eye boogers.
I got some human eye drops, theratears (just saline) and flushed his eyes once a day, and that seemed to really help keep them clear.
