20180329_092642.jpg Hi everyone first post here. Found this forum via Google looking up if other people had corso' s that liked swimming. Ruger is a little over 4 months and loves the water! He's a great dog! Strong and loving! Have been working hard since day one on boundries and obedience. This is my first large breed!

Hello Ruger, welcome! He looks strong & very handsome. Good luck with him & fun in the water, my cc is 9 mos old now, not sure if she likes the water yet but I will find out once it warms up here.
Can't wait!

Welcome :). I have an 11 month old Corso named Lettie. I thought most Corso’s liked water but Lettie HATES any water of any kind. She hates baths, lakes, rain, all of it. Very hard to give a struggling 110 pound Corso a bath if she doesn’t like water!
Wow yes bathing Lettie must be a big production good news is she will stay out of random puddles and bodies of water so you won't have to wash her after that Ruger sees water no matter the condition and it's game on

Hi Zeela. It will be exciting to see what happens when it warms up and you go to the lake or beach .... Were trying to do lots of socializing as often as possible. Definitely harder to get out and about with daily jobs but I'm trying to just make it normal for Ruger to come whenever I leave. I would love to get him service registered eventually so he can go anywhere!

Yes, it will be, she's alot of fun, cracks me up. Yes, socializing is important. With work, he will get use to your schedule and be waiting for you to get home. Right now at 4 months, they require alot of sleep,
Zeela would sleep about 18 hours a day. It's not recommended to over exert them when they are young, their muscles are growing.

Welcome to the Forum! This is a great place for help and support and a good laugh.

I love the picture of your pup, Bailey looked the same back then, and we chose not to crop. Her ears are beautiful and I love to kiss then. Thankfully, she's pretty tolerant to all the mushy stuff.

Bailey usually hates water. She'll use her 130 lbs to enforce her view, but, my husband and I are both heavyweights so...to bath...to bath...to bath she goes. This summer we're going to take the long drive to the beach that allows dogs. We're hopeful that if it doesn't look like a bathtub, it will look like a playground. And, it would help if there were other dogs there...you know, "monkey see, monkey do."

At any rate, so glad you found us and, Again...WELCOME TO OUR PACK!

My boyfriend and I are thinking about taking a trip to a dog friendly beach too, same theory here. And with the cropping, we did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions. We were back-and-forth on the issue for a few weeks. I have nothing against ear cropping but we decided not to do it either. She has amazingly clean ears. We don’t need to clean them at all, but we do, just to keep her used to it if we ever need it. I also love on her ears all the time, soooo soft!

Thank you! Good to know! What length of physical activity would you suggest is still healthy? 45 min walk too long?

Pretty girl! It was a lot of back and forth with cropping for us as well. They are so soft and I love massaging and scratching them!
