New OEM owner

Hello everyone my name is Johannah and I am new to the site. I purchased an English Mastiff puppy right before Christmas she is now 3 months old and we love her to pieces. I have had dogs for a while now but mostly toy breeds so I want to learn as much about OEMs as possible so that I can provide her with every thing she needs. Any advice will be appreciated. In addition to Magic I have two daughters age 2 and 7, a Chihuahua named Kobe, and a pug named Fisher. Yes I am a Lakers fan if you didn't connecet the name dots. Look forward to speaking with you all and learning all that I can. First thing first.......food choices:

I currently have her on Blue Buffalo large Breed Puppy is this a suitable? I recently transitioned her from science diet puppy as my research led me to believe that brand isnt as great as they advertise it to be ingredient wise.

Welcome! Mastiffs really don't need a puppy food but if she is doing well on the food it's fine. Just keep an eye out for any signs of intolerance as many mastiffs have issues with grains and/or chicken.

Thanks for the information. And just my luck I brought the chicken and brown rice recipe in blue buffalo large breed pups in the largest bag I could find. Is there a specific brand any of you have had luck with? I read some things online about life abundance and Fromm pet foods. I just want to find something that someone has experience with. I know all dogs are different. My pug has allergies and has to eat prescription food so I would like to avoid this at all costs with Magic. I also don't want to keep switching her food brands because I know that is not good for her stomach either.

You might be able to exchange for a bag of blue buffalo wilderness in either duck or salmon if you wanted to stay with blue buffalo.

Unfortunately I already opened the bag but i will buy some. I am not really focused on a brand just whatever is best for her with my chihuahua and pug finding food is so much easier. I know Mastiffs are special breeds and their diet is very important so I just want to make sure I start her on the right path. I keep reading conflicting things in regards to large breed puppy food and mastiffs not requiring puppy food at all. Even my vet recommended I put her on lg breed puppy food. This is so tricky.

Most Pet stores will take back open bags and if you got it from PetSmart they do except them back.

Vets have very little training in nutrition. Some places will let you exchange open bags. There's no one perfect food but some good ones are Acana Pacifica, orijen 6 fish, blue buffalo wilderness salmon or duck and Earthborn Holistics Great Plains feast, meadow feast or coastal catch.

ok thanks for the info. Just my luck I got the food from petsmart so i guess I can't return it. I will look into the suggested brands. Thanks so much
