Thought I'd post some recent pictures. Athena is still awesome. She's 7 months today. Her temperament is perfect for our family so far. I don't know how much that will change as she matures but for now, she's super sweet with all kids and most adults. She's destroyed the yard, has been working on eating my workbench and has drooled all over the front window. :p

Keeping an eye on the neighbors.

Still in love with the cat. I have a video of them but nowhere to host it. Sadly.

This is at an outdoor seating area of a local restaurant. She's very well-behaved there.

What do you all think of the white patches on her shoulders? She's just getting her adult fur. Right now it's a stripe down her back. I thought maybe it was a puppy thing and she'd turn all black eventually but I haven't seen those markings on other puppies.

The light streaks on the back of the shoulder blades? I don't recall noticing them on a B&T before, but Apollo's got very light streaks there. For the light patches above her shoulders it looks like her ruff has a lighter undercoat. Which I knew was technically possible but again hadn't seen on a B&T before. Very cool looking.

I know our breeder kept saying she had interesting markings but to me, she just looked B&T. Now I'm wondering if those light patches are what he was talking about. I guess I'll just have to wait until her adult coat comes all the way in to see if they go away.

The B&T adults all had lighter fur under the black on their heads, but I don't know if that was consistent over the rest of their body. I just remember the breeder pointed it out and moved their head fluff around so we could see.

A "lighter" undercoat is normal, but I've never seen it so dramatic on the black and tans, very cool.

I went through pictures of some of Susie's dogs, and some of her B&T dogs DO appear to have a slight highlight behind the shoulder blades. I'd taken it for a trick of the light, but maybe not.....
