Hello my family is looking for a new addition and Cane Corsos our one of our top picks and there is a litter coming soon in our city that we have our eye on. We have a cat and a small dog but no children in the house. We are new to mastiffs but not large dogs (rottys). My job requires me to go meet people at their homes and take my dogs all kinds of places. is a cane corso right for me? plz help

Welcome aboard~

It really depends on the dog. Have you researched the breed so you can make an informed decision?

I'm sure CC owners will post a reply.

Like Deb says, depends on the individual dog. It also depends on your nature. So it's a nature/nurture issue. My CC is very laid back, interested in meeting and greeting everyone. She's gentle and non-confrontational. BUT she is large, 11 months and 100 lbs. I expect her to top out at 120. Her brother is already 130.
She isn't aggressive. As for small dogs, she's fascinated by them, but they are usually aggressive towards her because of her size (they are afraid!)
Cats delight her, but they either run from her or make her sad by hissing and batting at her. She'd love to have a little furry friend and she tries to make friends, but so far no luck. Oh, she has many dog friends, just no cats (yet!)

I'd suggest getting to know the mother and father of the upcoming litter. Their disposition will give you a good idea. Bailey's Mom is a ferocious protector of her family, but once you are given the all clear, she's a enormous lap puppy or would be if she could get in your lap. We never met the dad, but his pictures suggest a calm, assertive, mountain of muscle that would would terrify any trespasser. The one son that we know is as sweet and lovable a creature as you could want. I expect he'll be as protective as the mom, but will continue loving on people because he has a sweet soul.

The rest is up to you. Nuture a secure, loving dog that comes from calm, secure stock, you'll get a great companion, a fiercely loyal protector and a best friend. Good luck.
