New to the forum, have a question

I have a 12 week Presa/APBT pup, he is a great pup. My question is: do Presa's have a certain stare to them? It seems like a strange question to ask but my pup will have a serious stare at times. I had a APBT for 11 years and never noticed this with her. I can see how this serious stare would be intimidating when he gets bigger.

mine does the stare. the stare at me is to tell me usually he wants to play or go potty, but we have a bell on the door knob that he rings, does the stare, goes back to bell, and continues. it is easy to play with them when they are young but once older they are quite intimidating. i'll just grab a tug toy or throw a ball but to horse around i have to suit up. they may stare at strangers and not let them get close so you have to watch. it is also not recommended to stare back.

Yes, i always noted a certain stare on mines, if i'm understanding correctly what you mean. They fix their eyes on what they are thinking about, could be food, something that seems like prey, an stranger or just to try to tell you something. Usually it's not a good thing when they do it and it's better to direct their attention some other way cause after that they usually go into drive.

Alejandro, it is when he is studying something. today there was a lawn mower guy mowing my nieghbors yard and Toro sat and stared at this guy for about 15 minutes...a very stern stare. he is a funny pup! He seems very protective of his yard!!

Yes, i think it's something of them, i belive it's their guarding and prey instinc mixed together, when i'm at the park with mine, there's this house like 75 mts away, and when the people open the door, get in the car, open the gate, get out and so on and so on, she sits close to me and wacht the all thing not missing the smaller detail. I try to distract her with toys and stuff, but it's hard to get it, i can finish an entire bag of treats trying. But from there to charging there's a small step.
