As chance would have it, I was at the shelter with mastiffs generally on my mind, when one showed up! This does NOT happen here. We are a very depressed area. This place is all about poorly cared for pits, and scrawney chiahuahua's. The pits frequently show up with broken chains or a length of chewed off rope around their necks. The police found this pup wandering around the outskirts of town. Unexpectedly, she was healthy, and showed no apparent trauma. I noticed the heavy bone, the head shape, higher rear, and the extra skin around her muzzle. She was also aloof. I knew immediately I wanted her, and no one showed up to get her. A week later, she was mine.
