Normal to not eat as much?

I posted awhile back about Zola being picky with food (mostly my fault as I started adding toppers or wet food with her kibble). I put her breakfast down for 15 mins, and she usually eats about half (so maybe 1 cup) then at dinner she gets left over breakfast plus another 1-2 cups added in. Sometimes she will finish, sometimes she won't. So I guess that maybe she is getting around 2-3, MAYBE 3.5-4 cups a day. Is that enough for her? I was concerned of her getting skinny but I think she is fine, and I don't want to make her even more picky by adding something else, so I give her the food, she has the chance to eat, and its pulled up until the next meal.

At my parents she is more active and always eats all her food. So I figure its because she is just not as active at home since she is an only child, and if shes hungry she will eat.

I have found that she is just not a kibble dog, she will eat a whole bowl of wet food if put down. I tried the honest kitchen dehydrated food in a bowl, and she ate it all up. SO i thought that would be easier than wet food as I can mix as needed, but she will not eat it mixed with the kibble. I am fearful I have created a picky puppy monster. Do I put her just back on kibble and make her eat that alone? I thought by adding in 1/4-1/2cup of wet food it would be better as far as digestion and bloat (as I have read that kibble fed dogs are more prone to bloat) but is that really even making a difference?

Are there any kibbles your dogs love? She has been on the Acana Pacifica, TOTW bison, Anaca apple and lamb..... doesnt really care about any of them. I was thinking about trying the Fromm Beef Fritatta next.... she is also on a grain free food, and allergic to chicken.

Its also VERY hot outside right now, I know as humans we aren't always as hungry when we are hot... could that have anything to do with it as well? I mean 90-110 during the day, usually 90 all night

My Shelby does this. I noticed she gets tired of the same food. On days she's active, she eats all her food with no issues. When she doesn't finish, I just put it up for later.

Well took her to the dog park tonight and around 9:30 (I know late dinner but we have to wait until the sun goes down to go out) she was baring at us to eat, and she ate around 3.5 cups with a little sprinkled cheese go figure

Sounds like heat related that she is not eating as much. Titan regulates his food intake in the heat and doesn't eat as much. If only I could do that too.

Once you create the "topper monster", it is a hard habit to break. Some dog will not eat until they have a topper and as humans, we break down and give them the toppers they are used to having on their food.
