I'm extremely grateful to have Iymala here to help calm my nerves. Every time I have a question she is so graciously available. I'm sure Nani will be so excited to see y'all again. I can't wait to hear about her visit. On another note, I can honestly say that she is handful, but her hugs and tummy rubs are worth it. My hubby on the other hand, she stresses him out... lol it's like watching a new daddy taking care of a toddler that can walk and run already. Personally, I think Nani is trying to figure out where his place in the home is. While I'm at work I get messages of stress saying she isn't listening to him... lol I guess during the weekends when we are both home, I need to let him do the training so she can see he is in charge to... well over her not me... lol All in all, she is a very smart puppy learning her place in our home and with time and patience I know she'll be a very loving part of our family!

OMG...she is so big.

Our girls used to eat rocks...seriously eat them...so we had to start doing other things to tire them out. My husband made a flirt pole, we started taking them on more walks and what not. It really did help. We also taught them an 'out' command so they drop whatever is in their mouth. In the past several weeks, really since their surgery, they have mellowed out so much. They no longer need the 2 hours outside in the morning and they are sleeping more. Could be the cold but I think they are just more mellow and realize that a mellow attitude gets them inside with their family while acting crazy gets them outside.

What a cutie! Enjoy your new pup. Thane used to chew mulch and rocks as a pup. Quickly we developed a "No planters" command to keep him out of the planters. Took a few months. Occasionally he will snouffle up a piece of bark or gravel if it's on the walkway. He tries to hide it in his jowls or under his tounge if I go to take it away. Nothing like a Mastiff trying to look innocent to make you take a hard look.

Nani doesn't really like going on walks, she would rather sit at the corner and stare at all the cars passing by. I think she also likes to do it because the community mailbox is there so a good majority of the people that go there to get mail give her lots of attention! She's an attention hog! http://www.mastiff-forum.com/images/smilies/biggrin.png as for the eating rocks and mulch.. yes, she totally does that. We had to cover the plantar area with a tarp. She's been chewing rocks like their gum... she hasn't swallowed any that I can tell, but she is being very sneaky and bringing them inside. BTW... what's a flirt pole?

We've been trying to teach her the "leave it" and "drop it" commands, but she only listens when she knows we have treats. We've been doing a lot teething games and yesterday she lost her first incisor, but i noticed that this morning she had another tooth already!! WEIRD! Nani is really good at hiding rocks and shrubs in her mouth, it cracks me up because my husband will say he just checked and there was nothing, but then she'll spit it out... they are so smart!
