Our Groomer is in Love with Diesel and Kahlua - pics also

So after a few snow days and many many muddy rainy days the pups were overdue for some quality time with the groomer. Things have been pretty hectic hear lately so I haven't been so great about the planning ahead or knowing what my schedule would be like ahead of time so I called on Saturday and asked if there was any way they could squeeze us in. They said sure just bring them in.

We dropped the dogs off, ran some errands and then went home to wait on their call. My husband, Sean, decided he would go pick them up on his own to allow me to rest. So off he went and a little while later I start getting all these text photos from a number I don't know... of my dogs.... in costumes.

It turns out that upon picking up the pups Sean learned a few things.

1. They apparently love our dogs so much that they have hearts by their names in their system with a note to see them anytime regardless of whether they are booked up or not.

2. They told him they had hoped we wouldn't show up to pick them up so they could just keep them.

3. They did a little photoshoot with the dogs after the grooming and that is why I was getting pictures of my dogs.

So now for their St. Patrick's Day themed photo shoot pictures for your viewing pleasure...

Those are great pictures! Doesn't it feel so great when other people love your dogs too? I especially love the one of Diesel as a leprechaun.

It amazes me that your doggies actually calmly wear the St. Patrick's Day apparel. I once saw a boxer sitting in a truck wearing sunglasses...I have not tried this sort of thing with my dogs. Way to go, Nikki and Mr. ah....Mr. Nikki.

Thanks ! Yes it is a wonderful feeling when other people love our pups. Mostly people are in love with Kahlua and sad she doesn't want to be touched and terrified of Diesel because he very much wants to be friends and is a little overly enthusiastic. But, apparently both dogs are on their best behavior at the groomers and love them. Our groomer even lowered their prices just for us because they say our dogs are so well behaved through everything and are just easy and wonderful to work with. <3

Pastor Dave - I was also surprised that they allowed someone other than me to do that. I am guessing massive amounts of treats and bribes were used to make that happen.

I groom Zeela myself, I would like to try to take her to the groomer but I really think she would not be happy about that. she does like to be clean! :p

Ya we have done it ourselves a few times but I am not a fan of the amount of mud that ends up clogging our shower after. So instead we use puppy wipes between grooming sessions. Plus I don't feel confident doing their nails since I can't see the quick.

Your pups are adorable!! It sounds like you have a great situation with that groomer! If you (or anyone) is ever interested, there is a fantastic Facebook group for nails. It’s called “nail maintenance for dogs”. It’s a self-study group that has really great information on how to properly read and take care of your dogs nails. We had to learn since Lettie won’t let anyone but us touch her feet. It gave me so much more confidence with doing Lettie’s nails. I wish I could drop her off and get great pictures like you do!!
