I like the second one with short hair. They look like they are some kin to a big shepard or something like that. The one sitting looks pretty big to me

some people say kangal is kind of sarabi
becuase unor kanli came to iran about 10 years ago and he bought some sarabi
sarabi is very strong shepherd dog

sarabi includes many kind of shepherds
short haired-long haired-matiki-sheri and ...
its not mix breed

Question: Do they consider these dogs more of a land race than a breed? I have a CAO and I know they are often times considered a land race in their native land, thus different appearances from different regions. I very much like the dogs in the second set of pics.

Kasra jan,
I saw some mastiffs like this in Khuzestan back in the mid 70s working as night guards in the villages near Shushtar. They were serious dogs and I wouldn't want to sneak unto these villages at night on foot. They do come in the long haired and short haired versions -- just as the border collies

they are native from west part of iran but you can find best of them in north

mixed of sarabi and local mastiff of our area
name:kara(means black in turkish)
height:52 cm
weight:20 kg
photos at 4 month old now he is 5

I think he will be up to 80 cm perhaps higher
but about weight I know he will be up to 70 kg
he is very very dangerous dog
i bought it from a shepherd in the north
