HUGE HUGE HUGE WARNING. DO NOT FOSTER, DO NOT ADOPT, DO NOT RE-HOME YOUR DOGS to Kristine Finchman AKA Kristine Maxwell and now known as Kristine Tanner. This women is an ANIMAL FLIPPER Extraordinaire. She is banned from several shelters. She is located in Rittman, OH.

We also were notified to pull two other dogs from her that she was fostering for us when the Department of Agriculture was called
to her house, these dogs are still currently in boarding in Ohio. We are unsure as to how many animals she was over her 2 dog limit. Venus is fine, well cared for. But there are several dogs unaccounted for over a long period of time.

We recently got Venus back from her, she adopted Venus from us in November 2012.She also apparently re-homed Venus and one point in time, since someone has stated that Venus was with them for an undisclosed period of time.

Currently in her care is Manny a Presa Canario that she adopted thru CCR and two Doberman Pincher puppies, I am unsure as to where they came from. No amount of screening prepares you for what people will do in the future. We are just glad to have our girl back safe and sound.

Wow, you'd think in this day and age that agencies would be linked to weed out the rif raf and scammers.

I hope they shut her down.

Unfortunately, most animal shelters are so underfunded they are unable to have the technology that allows them the luxury of tracking the crazy ones. :(

It is not just a matter of funding. Many people are just naive (spell?). Everyone likes to think THEY are a good judge of character. Unfortunately, sociopaths and charlatans are usually better at fooling people. I volunteered for a cat shelter in CA several years ago, and we had a long list of people (with photos) who could not have a cat. This was not the average shelter, however. It was well funded (considering), well connected, and very well well run.

The last place I worked at had none of that. I didn't feel good about most of the adoptions. Honestly, I think a standard 72 hour stay/then euthenize policy might have been better.
