Puppies Delivered by Officer "Doing Great"

CLEVELAND – A police officer who rescued an emaciated, pregnant mastiff then helped to deliver her puppies said the little ones are "eating like machines and growing fast!"

The Cleveland Division of Police added the update with some pictures to its blog Wednesday.

Officer John Lyons found the neglected Mastiff during his shift on Nov. 1.

Claire, as she is now called, is recovering from a cough and some congestion but she is taking medicine to help.

She had eight puppies in her litter.

The blog post also mentioned donations may be made to West Park Animal Hospital to help with vet costs.
