Raw Diet Recipe's

Hey all,

Just under a week ago i brought home my first EM pup. Since then i have been doing alot of reading and am very keen on putting him on a raw diet. At the moment ive contiuned to feed him what the breeder did which was Chicken Mince and Bonnie Complete Adult Dry. But ive started to add chicken necks to his meals.

Reading all the information on the raw diet is a bit overwhelming and you cant really seem to find many other peoples eating schedules for there dogs. Im curious to see what people using the Raw method feed there dogs on what days etc.. Maybe that way i can take what i like from other peoples experiences on the diet and also add what i think will work aswell.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul,
I have fed raw for about 2 years. If you do a search you may find some previous posts on the forum regarding this topic. I have actually taken a bit of a break from it now, since my boxer has become so sick. I really think the diet has helped keep him healthy for a long time and I think it has prolonged his life and health. It has also been the "cure" for my pitt mix with severe allergies. I had taken her off it when I took Crosby off but have just put her back on it as her skin allergies have begun again. they had completely stopped and now the itching and scratching has returned.

For protein I have fed Chicken Necks, Turkey Necks, Turkey Breasts, Chicken quarters, Chicken Livers and gizzards (my dogs seem to prefer the gizzards over the livers), Mackeral, Salmon, Pork (after freezing for about 4-6 weeks), Ground Beef occassionally eggs, green beans, sweet potatoes. One thing about feeding Necks... you need to mix it up. There is a good bit of bone in them. Too much can contribute to constipation.

Good luck with going Raw.
