Reputable Breeder in Texas

My husband and I are torn between English mastiff and bullmastiff. Can anyone tell me more about the differences between the two?

Also, we are located in Northeast Texas. Can anyone direct us to reputable breeders in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas or Mississippi?

I got my EM from Nancy Walker of Lazy d kennels in Mississippi. She came highly rated and health tests all her breeding/show stock. She also will ship if the weather is not to hot.

Thank you! Can you tell me more about your Ems temperament? I have been reading some about aggression. We have 4 boys and will have other kids over to visit. I definitely don't want to worry about any of the kiddos getting hurt by the dog. How is your dog with kids?

Yes I've heard of some with fear issues/aggression. Carson just loves everyone. From the time I got him he has shown no shyness, just curiosity and inquisitiveness. He is not the laid back kind of mastiff, and he's very full of himself, very confident. All he wants to do is play. I think his temperament is what the breeder would want for showing. He is my first mastiff.

My first mastiff came from Lazy D, she was a beautiful girl and would warm up to everyone eventually but she was very protective of me. I don't consider that a temperament fault tho, it is the breed. Most folks were just a little off put by her big girl bark and most of the time she was just saying HI!
