On my way this morning to my usual butcher shop I stumbled across another butcher shop SO I stopped in to compare prices and so happy I did .... bought my meat there for my dogs ... 40lbs of chicken quarters for $24.00 (Other place $24.99) and I got 4 huge hunks of pork shoulder for $1.19/lb (Other place $1.29) not a HUGE savings BUT with how much I buy & how often - it'll definitely add up.

AND I will be meeting a woman who replied to my craigslist ad for 'free unwanted meat' on Wednesday - she has 35lbs of venison to give me - oh happy day -how sad is it that I am this excited about raw meat

Don't be afraid to ask for freezer burned stuff too, the dogs don't care if its a bit mushy on the outside....

Im excited about the venison & its actually freezer burned .... do I "prepare" (dont mean cooking) that differently then I would 'fresh' frozen raw meat? Im assuming put in fridge & then in a bowl of water to thaw prior to feeding??
