Soft Crate Questions

Has anyone tried the GoPetClub Soft Crate
http://www.tscpets.com/gpc-ag48.html#.UOIXZGfNkdg
I am trying to find a portable crate that will hold Kryten. He currently is 31" tall and about 43" nose to base of tail. This is the only soft crate that I've found so far that would be big enough but I can't seem to find any reviews on it. Any other types that you know of please let me know so that I can check them out as well. I did find the 54" Wire crate from Midwest but at 87lbs its not exactly what I would call easily portable.

I use this type of soft crate from GoPetClub: http://www.tscpets.com/gpc-ab25.html#.UOIuNXy9KK0 The issue I have with it is that it is not very durable. The thin poles that hold the sides of the crate up have poked through the canvas and made a hole in the ceiling of my car :( The stitching quality on the door is not very good either, Roly leans against it and he has made a tear in the mesh where it connects to the zipper. I have been using the crate for him for car rides and when we are at work on Fri and Sat for the past month or two. If you are not planning on using it that much or that long it is a great crate but if you plan on using it long term you might want to try to find another brand.

Since Roly is growing out of his current soft crate I bought this just today actually: http://www.amazon.com/Firstrax-NOZTONOZ-Sof-Krate-Indoor-Outdoor/dp/B000P9TNLI From what I have read it is supposed to be one of the more durable soft crates. Unfortunately, this is the largest size they make. I was considering using a x-pen at work like I do at home but Roly does not like strangers touching his crate and I don't want someone reaching their hand over the top and inside. If thats not an issue with Kryten then this might work the best: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12404259&f=PAD%2FpsNotAvailInUS%2FNo It also comes 36" high which is lighter if shorter is ok with you. It's heavier than a soft crate but its lighter than a wire one and it has the most space for a dog stretch out in.

I've actually seen that Noztonoz crate 'in action' and it does appear to be quite sturdy.

I've thought if an X-pen but Kryten routinely will stand on his hind legs with his front on the front yard fence (3') and I'm worried that he would try it with that as well. Also I would like to use it with Jiggers if I had too and he would just jump over if he wanted to go play with something.

Thats the one I'm looking to get, course now Amazon says its out of stock, so I might have to find somewhere else to get it from, but it was recommended by someone on here when I asked about portable crates back in the spring.

I found the blue one on Overstock.com but I don't know how the price compares. Amazon.ca doesn't carry it so I'd have to have it shipped from the states with amazon and that I've found to be hit or miss with shipping costs.

Hmmm, looking at overstock, I found this: http://www.overstock.com/Pet-Suppli...l?recSet=1cc4eee0-557e-4730-9b41-81c84669c487 which isn't the same brand, but I also found this: http://www.overstock.com/Pet-Suppli...e-Soft-Crate-Pet-Carrier/7501931/product.html which I kinda like the look of....

When we're camping @ dog shows, we have a pen that we made ourselves. It's made from an Easy-up canopy (10' x 10'); and chicken wire mounted on PVC pipes for the sides. The sides are zip stripped to the bottom of the canopy frame & to each other. One side has a door made from chicken wire & pvc, also zip stripped on, and held secure by bungee cords. I've been looking for a pic of it, but of course can't find any in all the dog show pics we have. I'll keep looking.
It's pretty easy & cheap to make. We usually have at least 2 dogs with us; sometimes all four. We use really cheap collapsible crates inside, & there's still room for everyone to stretch out if they want. It's not too heavy. It also stores easily.

My mastiff chewed the zippers off his softcrate within 48-hours of purchase ($120 down the drain). LOL :D I still have it though and going to try to fix it and use it when we take him to the shows, but for everyday use, I had to go with the giant metal crate to fend off any destruction he tries to dish out on his home.
