solid then liquid stools

Hello, I am currently feeding my dog a raw diet. He is almost 1 year old at 95lbs. I was originally getting premixed raw food from Big Paw Raw in Toronto. They are awesome!
my pup needs a little over 3lbs a day in order to maintain/gain weight, hes got a fast metabolism. So i started putting together my own raw meals to bring the costs down. The main staple of his diet now is chicken quarters w/ back attached, ground beef, and organ.
My question is that mid day, while on a run/walk he will poop and it will be solid, then most likely another poop that solid, and then a third that is pretty much all liquid. He typically poops 2 to 3 times on the mid day walk.

Any idea what would cause this?

since he was having trouble gaining/maintaining weight, i leave the skin on the chicken and its not regular ground beef. So is there too much fat?

I don't feed raw but I have heard that it is common for a second or third poop in a short period will be softer (at least) since it is moving through the bowels faster and the water doesn't have time to reaborbe. This applies to kibble dogs at least.

That sounds like our normal poopy walks... first one is solid, and they get softer from there. I think the movement of the walk is what helps it move through faster, which loosens things up. Denna's also raw-fed, and all her poops in the yard are solid, it's just the ones on the walk (where I have to pick them up by hand) that are sometimes the goopy ones.... of course.

If you leave the piles in the yard out to dry, do they dry to a lighter shade? like white chalk? If not, you might be able to up the bone-in % some. But, be careful, as too much bone can lead to constipation issues. I have to keep Denna's bone% down to about 7% (versus the usual target of 10%), or she can get a little stopped up.

It doesn't sound like too much fat to me, if it's just the 3rd poops that are going soft on you.

Thank you, it was similar when he was kibble fed, by the third poop it was pretty soft. Also, he seems to get exercise induced diarrhea. Ive also got his bone percentage below 10% as he gets backed up quickly with too much bone. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a symptom of something worse or incorrect ratios. The increased fat has helped him fill out a bit, i dont think the premixed raw foods have much fat since most dogs have trouble losing weight, and mine has a hard time gaining it.
