I like that style! I was looking at custom made prong covers from a vendor at a trial recently. They were a different type than that, and I ended up getting a buckle and a martingale instead, but I still might get a prong cover.

That's nice.We have been looking for something for some of the foster dogs that really need to be on a prong. But due to general misconceptions, most rescues do not want a prong on them at events. This would solve that very easily. Thanks for sharing the info.

Yep, it's woven into the prong. It comes with a Herm Sprenger. I got a all black prong along with the all black cover. That's my collar in the pic. I'll post pics when I get it.

That's very nice work. I like that her design is different than most that you see. May I ask, since I didn't see it listed on her site, how much it was?

$90. That included getting the black prong and shipping. The choke is free.

Huh, I wonder why I didn't see prices. I'll go look again. I'm all about supporting handcrafters. She does excellent work. Factoring in the cost of the collar itself and supplies, I'd say that's a very fair price. I was an artisan, and I know that I ended up having to dissolve my business because I was never able to pay myself a reasonable wage. Customer's often don't get that just because you may do something from home, your time is as valuable as someone working in a retail shop. Good for her for realizing her talent is worth it. I'll pass her info along.

I agree. I saw the collar on Leerburg's site and reached out to her. She replied quickly and I could tell right away she was passionate about her work. Which made me comfortable working with her. She answered every question I had swiftly and confidently. I thought the price was great. I'm going to be using Solo as a therapy dog at my new school and I know how ppl can be ignorant (and stupid) when it comes to a prong. So this serves a great purpose as well.

Seeing the video really helped me. I was wondering how you put in on and a whole lot of other questions. I'll have to look into getting those for the girls.

Thanks for sharing season. I tried to pm you then learned of the posting regs. Should I start with this one or do you recommend something else for Odin?

If you're going to get a prong I say go with the Herm Sprenger Medium (3mm).....no need to go bigger. If you like the cover then I'd go with the cover and you get the Herm Sprenger since they weave the cord into the collar. I'm not sure how old your dog is, but I'm assuming it's still growing? IF thats the case I'd hold off on the cover until later, until you know you won't be adding any more links. When you get the prong all of the links will be in it. 10 in total. When I got Solo at 3 months I obviously had to remove a bunch of the links so it fit properly. Then would add as he grew. Currently he uses 9 out of 10 links and its just fine. Prob will never need to use the 10th one.
