Such a difference!

About a month ago my breeder contacted me to see how Lettie was doing and ask if we needed anything. I asked him a few questions and asked how his girl was doing (Lettie’s sister that he kept). I said I would like to see a picture of her and he sent me this one of Cleo. I’m just amazed at the differences between sisters of the same litter! He also sent me a picture of one other sister that looks a lot like Lettie, just lighter in color. Anyone else keep in contact and see pictures of littermates?

FYI I’m not looking to get my little feelings hurt here lol. I bought her as a pet and I’m more than happy with her. So I’m not too worried if she isn’t “show quality”. Just thought this was interesting.

Honestly? I prefer Lettie's looks. I think she's just gorgeous. As for keeping in contact with littermates ... no. Al was a singleton. Roy was from a hobby breeder in LaPorte and they moved and quit breeding after his litter was born and I can't find them now. Ella was a foster fail, so no info there.

Aww thanks, I do too.... but of coarse I do  I think I would consider Lettie’s breeder a hobby breeder too. He’s a good guy that genuinely cares about her though. He checks in often and thanks us all the time for being good puppy parents. And I think I would have failed at fostering Ella too, what a cutie!

I agree with Boxergirl, I prefer Lettie's look also. But as far as meeting down a dark alley... Her sister would give me a bit more of a scare! I think Lettie's coat is shiny, so keep the stinky fish farts going!! Lol. Also, I like her uncropped ears. It makes her look feminine

Thanks! And I agree, her sister does look a bit more scary. My boyfriend and I debated for weeks on the cropped ear issue, but I’m glad we decided to keep them, they are so soft and the best spot to kiss!

I have to agree with what has been said. Not that I would have hurt your feelings anyway ;) Seriously, Lettie looks more feminine if that even makes sense when referring to dogs (bitches). It‘s interesting to see how different they are, but both look very nice.

I am also a fan of floppy ears! I can see the cuteness and appeal of the crop but there is just something about floppy ears, petting them and ruffling them that brings me indescribable joy. I would be so sad if I couldn't constantly play with my pup's ears.

As for comparing the two girls I think they are both beautiful. I do love Lettie's coloring and coat. It might be the light but she is just so shiny and is such a beautiful color. The sister certainly has a cuteness as well though. She looks like a little bear.

Thank you all! Really, I was debating on if I should share this picture here because I was thinking I would get comments about improper proportioning or her not being up to the breed standard (I’m no expert). I do appreciate all of the kind replies :)

I should clarify: I don’t think you’re all a bunch of jerks. Most of you here are very knowledgeable and know these breeds well. Me, not so much, I’m just a newbie :D. And I don’t mind if someone does want to comment on her proportions or whatever. I’m hard to offend, but I do love my girl. :)

No worries :) I don‘t think anybody was going to evaluate her based on show potential. Thanks for sharing the picture. It‘s always interesting to see the litter mates. Regardless, both are beautiful dogs! You love her and she seems to be an awesome companion.

I actually see a lot in common between the 2 .
Biggest difference I really see is the muzzle and jowl thickness.
Cleo Is a bit heavier if I had to guess, but if you look at the legs, I see a very simialar bone thickness, also chest look very much the same it is just Lettie's chest is turned slightly.

Seems most CC's with cropped ears have a higher brow, most likel due to no down pressure from the weight of the ears.

Both good looking dogs.

Like the looks of CC's both ways, but just not a pocket mastiff person.:p

Both of the pups are BEAUTIFUL. I am in to the I'm so sweet look like Lettie. Cleo has that bad ass look which is interesting but Lettie is going to win this beauty contest :) I won't crop. The ears are so awesome and fun to love on! Thanks for sharing!!!

I agree with this post, very similar except muzzle area but it could be camera angle. What does the brow mean? Are you referring to the eyebrow area?

Thank you all!
TWW: Now that you point them out, I can really see the similarities. I felt like they looked so different but didn’t know how exactly. The muzzle thinkness really makes a big difference. I really thought the chest was a huge difference but now I see what you mean about the angle. And the brow being different because of the crop really makes sense.

And “pocket mastiff” I love it. I was cracking up looking at my phone and had to explain myself to the boyfriend. :p

It‘s really funny how these dogs change our perception of size. Some call a lare CC "pocket Mastiff", while others might consider it one of the largest dogs they‘ve ever seen. I can definitely see that happening. To me, a 100+ lbs is no longer huge. Very interesting to read about XXL dog products that describe a 75 lbs dog. I would definitely pay that debt by the way! ;)
