You could also try a collar with a "holy shit handle" a 2-3 inch wide collar shouldnt be able to hide in his ruff and im sure he's tall enough that you could grab the handle very easy. I have used them before and they work well. Something like this and they make them for big necks. Im just using the link as an example to show you what im talking about

I tried one when he was a pup and the handle always ended up under his neck where it wasn,t grab-able. Not sure if I had it fitted wrong (its HARD to get a non-martingale collar fitted on him right, that fluff screws up the fitting), or what. On the other hand thats another idea to consider.....

Ya thats the only problem, that damn ruff hahaha, i didnt see and thick hair dogs modeling them, unless its on pretty snug even then if he shakes his head im sure it would go underneath his chin, it was just another idea not sure if it would work or not lol.

Well I got the harness...so fast it came...all the way to Canada in that short time! It was good timing since I had to walk her much later than usual and she is pretty guardy at night (she actually did pretty good today at night only one WOOF at 2 guys that came out garage to their car not to far from us (she met them after), and a few growls off to no where land..think this one was a wild animal I couldn't see anything and she dropped it fast (She us to growl at everything after dark). Well it went pretty good and it feels more secure than the easy walk and I do not think I need the arm padding that I use on that harness. Only thing is I feel the lead is a bit short for the free sniff time and I gotta walk closer to trees and hydrants and it doesn't spin her the same way as the easywalk but it can still do it..just a different hand motion I think (I just gotta learn to use it to make the same fast spin we use to do). My husband was with me and he says he believes I can control her better on this one as well. She didn't lunge (which is good) so I am unsure how it handles that but the easywalk is terrible handling lunging (thats why I used the extra on the collar at the time as if she lunged to hard and I pull to hard she would fall over -easywalk). She doesn't usually lunge but she has a few times when really excited over the time I have owned her.

Anyways, Kris you are right it def fits better

Also, Ruth incase you are worried about size. I do not think there is a fit dog (maybe even a fat) in the world that cannot fit in the XL (maybe a hippo dog!). I knew she would just be at the start of the XL and grow at least a little more (probably alot more) so I still got the XL. It comes all the way open and it can adjust to a HUGE size (48inches I think). You may need to get a longer double clip leash for more casual times.
