Tough dog toys

Oh another one that we had that lasted for a long time and was fun was these "unstuffed" animals with squeakers in them. I think it was from Walmart He normally shredded stuffies in seconds. This dead raccoon lasted the summer befor he got the squeaker out and then still lasted as a play/chew toy
Titan loves those toys and they are on .25.

That's great to know MD. One was a possibility for purchase when we go shopping this week to get Knox his toys for hen he moves home on Friday because it was so good for Damon. After your comment we will for sure along with the little 3 pack of puppy nylabones and who know what else we'll I mean he'll Wanna play with. I've been following this thread for more ideas because all great chewers are the ones that usually don't shred your house.

Depends on a dog, but those do hold up well generally....both my dogs love them, which for Arty means they lasted for about half an hour....

I'm not sure if it's been said but dogzillaz are pretty nice they're like a tug of war toy made out of the same stuff fire hoses are made of. Shadow has had his since he was about 10 weeks old, 8 months later its still in one piece.

I don't think this is far off topic since its about tough toys..... Should I avoid tug toys for a pup? I've read it can cause issues with aggression and the urge to take and posses. By tug of war is a classic fun exercise/game
Thanks

Tug is one of those things with differing opinions. It basically boils down to you and the dog. With my Arty I'll play tug any day, though he doesn't usually want to. With Apollo, I'll only play tug if I can win. I do suggest that if you choose to play tug that you watch the dog closely. Some dogs will get very out of control about it and you'll want to make sure it doesn't reach that point, THATS when you can have problems.

I could CUT! Damon at any point of any play and he would sit toes to mine I expect the same from Knox I was just concerned that I'd have more on my hands with any mastiff and if I should avoid it. Maybe I will just make everyone who tries to play nicely with him. Sorry just having all of these last minute stresses I keep thinking about.

I think tug is fine so long as the dog doesnt get overly aggressive about it. I play tug with Mufasa from time to time but only after he learned the command leave it and I also NEVER let him win. If I wanna give him the toy at the end of the tug session I will make sure I win, then make him sit and reward him with the toy. Never let him flat out win and walk away IMO

Train the mastiff the same way. It'll be a good thing in the long run, even if you never really play tug when he's an adult.

Cruiser's fav toy of the moment is a pumpkin. it weighs about 4 lbs and had a nice stem. He has been rolling that thing all over the back yard and has a great time with it! It was one of about 10 that was meant for my horses, a gift from a friend who has a nice sized farm. He bites or tries to bite it but can't quite get the whole thing in his mouth, attacks it, pushes it around and once or twice threw it into the air. The darn thing has rolled everywhere outside for several days now.

I work at a dog daycare and I swear by Goughnuts! They are tough especially the circular ones the sticks are not as tough. They also offer a replacement if your dog destroys it.
