Water Desensitization

Bea was very suspicious of the water when we first got here, but now doesn't hesitate to wade out as deep as her height will allow; I'm sure she'll be swimming soon! We just let her warm up to it at her own speed by spending lots of time hiking along the beach and throwing sticks out into it, and one day she just started going after the sticks and heads out on her own most times now.

Odin (corso) was the same way with water. Then one day we went fishing and he seen the fish on the end of the hook and barreled right in after it! We were swinging the poor fish all over the place to try and reel it in without him grabbing it and the hook. The big brat. Since then he's been a bit more open to the idea of stepping in water at rivers and lakes on his legs though he avoids kiddie pools like the plague.
Funny creatures, dogs :)

Water is still just above freezing (you can still see snow and ice on the far shore) so I was thinking it's REALLY going to suck if I have to go in after her :p
