What commands/tricks do your dogs know?

I have a 7 month old Neopolitan Mastiff who is totally obsessed with chicken - she just loves it.
At our dog training class when we are doing recall everyone else in the class uses the word "come" and their dogs obediently return to their master. Then there is me -the only one in the field to be heard shouting "Chicken" !!! But she returns to me every time.

Ate my post...

Sit, down, down stay, sit stay, shake/paw ( both paws), BANG/play dead, over ( lay on your side for nail trimming), speak, out ( out of kennel, out toy, out/leave it) up ( hug), wait, easy, backup, heel, platz ( down in German)....think that its.

As far as food he LOVES PIZZA, I say the word and his tail wags and he starts drooling.

We have a few tricks, commands, etc.

Petey (8 year old Lab): Sit, down, stay, down stay, heel, retrieve, drop, directions in the field with hand signals, retrieve on land, water, blind retrieve, double blind retrieve (and anything else that deals with hunting and field trials), return and heel, drop in field, sit in field, stop, shake a paw, bath (he goes and climbs into the bathtub), bang, go to your room, out, off, wait, take it, fetch, nein (no in German), find kids (we will say their name), jump, up, roll over.

Rascal (9 month old Bulldog): Down, sit, come, stand, high five, grind (this is her command for riding her skateboard), jump, off, crate, heel, no, leave it. There are a few more for her but I can't remember them off hand. Basic obedience commands though. Fetch, get the ball.

Daisy (18 week old EM): still learning but we are working on Sit, Down, Stay, Stand, Watch, Release, Leave It, Drop It, Off, Heel, Heel Sit, Come, Settle During Play, Wait, kiss, shake a paw, and fetch.

All the dogs know catch and they can all catch food from the air. I think I forgot a lot of Petey's commands since it is hard to remember what he knows when you aren't working him. The most impressive thing is to see him in the field working. He naturally tracks the way things land and will also track them on water so we often do blind retrieves where we will go and hide the dummy when he can't see us. After that, we direct him with hand signals or the vocal command for the directions. He shines in the field. He is also very funny when we do bang because he hates the command and he does it grudgingly. Since he does it so slowly, it actually looks like he has been fatally shot and is acting out the whole drama, stumbling to his belly before slowly rolling over into the dead position. He also groans as he does it to let us know just how much he hates it, guess he prefers to be active then simply laying there.

You REALLY need to post a video of Petey doing bang! :)

My wife has recently taught Junior to "kiss". Now I know why women complain about an unshaven face and kissing, wiskers are rough! LOL

Zoey french mastiff knows sit, easy(for taking food out of hand), leave it, slow(helps with walking) shake, working on come(wish that would come along quickier), off, find daddy, outside, potty, bed, and 10 more minutes and yes she can tell time. Speak which is never a bark but a talk whine she does. calm which is helpful for new people and up which is for hugs.

Neveah bullmastiff knows sit, easy, down, shake both paws, high five, leave it, come, spot(wherever I point to), off, hugs, speak, she counts if you hold up the numbers of times you want her to speak, bed, outside, quiet which is a true challenge to her because when she speaks everyone should listen. Calm again helpful with new people and make friends which is her favorite at the dog park which means go be free, she thinks she is the dog ambassador and must meet and greet old people and dogs there the busier the better. She is also hand trained on alot of them and we are working on the rest to come up with a signal she understands. She is very smart and very eager to please.

Rascal 5 pound chiquaua don't kill anyone which means please don't draw blood when you bite everyone and everything. Its like trying to wrangle a tazmain devil and not lose any digits in the process. And of course because he is little all kids and people want to touch him which is never a good thing.
