What is the bite force of the mastiff breed?

I've seen the video where to the tosa inu has a bite force of 556 but that's just one dog, people say some mastiffs bite with a bite force of 650 which I think I just overall nonsense, if a wolf can't do it, doubt a dog can. A wolfs skull is larger than that of a dogs, when two skulls were matched one a Neapolitan mastiffs skull one a wolfs skull, the wolves was slightly larger, and quite a bit longer.

Theres lots of numbers bandied about, but the truth is that no one's really done a study as such comparing dog breeds using a consistant method to measure.

I recently read a book that said a toy breed can bite with 700 sq lbs of pressure, the average size dog (golden, lab, pointer, etc.) with 1500 sq lbs, and gaurd and gaurdian breeds with 2000 sq lbs of pressure.

For the life of me I can't remember which book it was. I keep looking and see if I can't find it again.

Skull size has nothing to do with bite force. It's all about the size and structure of the jaw muscles. An alligator snapping turtle has a lot smaller skull than most animals but has one of the strongest bight forces.

Actually don't even watch the video the last couple of mins are rubbish and based on "reports". Hahaha guess we'll never know unless there is a real test between a variation of each breed, and taking the average.

It should probably be in the area of 400 to 600 lbs.Depends more on individual dogs. Some have greater bite strength for their size, some lower.

I already went through this one.
Mastiffs (generalized) generally in the upper 500lbs range
Pitts in the mid 200s trained ones up to upper 300s
hyena over 1000
lion 690
Rottweiler mid 300s
Kangal claims 750
Wolves are said to have 400 to 500
Boerboels are bragging a 700+ bite force

Not one of these numbers can be used as word of god because there is no way to tell if an animal is giving it his all when biting and what was the health and size of the dog used. I know of 210lb Boerboels and 120lb Boerboels. 30lb pits and 80lb pits.

700lbs for a boerboel, i can't see any dog beating a lion, either the lion was a cub, or it's all nonsense. I can't see what would make a boerboel bite harder than a wolf, that has a larger structure, more primitive instincts, and a massive head overall. I may be wrong, but no way a small jawed kangal, or a boerboel are that high.

Kangals live in a raw environment they are developed like wolves and wild mastiffs and some are bigger than either. The head of a kangal is longer and than a Boerboel or most other mastiffs and it is just as wide.
Look at the overall size of this dog and think it over.
