When Love Hurts

Kryten has managed to figure out a new way to cause pain. Last night he decided that he needed cuddles. Normally the only problem this would cause is a bunch of hives but his placement was inconvenient. His elbow was positioned so that if he put any weight on it it went into my hip joint. It took over 5 minutes to convince him to get off since he woke me up by laying his tiny self on me. Every time he shifted his weight that elbow went in deeper and any noise I made him settle back down to "comfort" me. Once off my hip was mildly sore but it didn't seem bad.
Fast forward to this morning and my knee hurt to move. I thought he must have stepped on it but after that has happened in the past a gentle walk settle things down. Today that walk caused an exponential growth of pain. After some research and talking to a nurse friend it looks like I have a pinched nerve in my hip. Of course I do. This crazy boy has managed to hurt me in several bizarre ways and at this point it no longer surprises me other than to think "I didn't know you could get hurt like that".
Here's a picture of the wannabe lap dog.

Ah, He's such a babe. And he's so tiny...so itsy bitsy. How could your purse dog hurt you? And why is your purse the size of a pick up truck?
Of course I'm just ribbing you. Love is a pain in the hip/butt/knee...wherever A Mastiff chooses to impose their bulk. My right knee gets a constant workout from being cuddled at night...she has to Lean Into Me Because That's How Much She loves Me.

So, I know your pain. Do you know a good chiropractor? Usually It's worth the price.

Chevers.jpg My mastiff Mr. Chev is not permitted on the beds....he chases...ah....well, cats, rabbits, deer, chipmunks, other dogs, I'm not sure....but the twitching starts which would make sleeping impossible. I do notice that when I am crawling on the floor, Chev likes to "knock down and hold"--the mastiff battle cry. Once he stepped on my eye/face.

I do but he's out of the city until April 4. Kryten has learnt that he can lean into you but not put his weight into you, he has to hold himself up. Both my parents have knee (1 replaced already) or hip issues so there was no way they could handle him actually leaning on their legs.

aww I love Kryten updates and big lap dogs are the best (except for the injuries of course). I hope the pinched nerve settles quickly. Ouch!

Last night I forced Diesel to be a lap dog. He was acting anxious and sometimes the only thing that settles him is to bear hug him for awhile. I didn't feel like curling up around him as I was doing some work on the computer and that is not a good position for that so I dragged him into my lap and held him for awhile instead. As much as he grumbles about it while I direct him to my lap once he is there he seems super happy and content. Diesel is always super delicate and sensitive of me.

Kahlua on the other hand... I can't tell you how many times I have woken up and scolded "Kahlua you can't step on my boobs!" Her repeated offense leads me to believe she disagrees with this sentiment.
