Hi everyone, I'm a soon to be first time Registered Fila Brasileiro owner (we've had Filas before, just rescues) and am interested in showing my new boy this year. I'm having trouble finding shows that will accept my boy in Conformation etc. I recognize that they are not recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club or the American Kennel Club at this time. I am in Ontario, Canada but can travel to the northern United States for the right shows. Any advice in this area is VERY welcome.
Oh, lol, She does. I was hoping for some insight as to showing in Canada. She has given me lots of places to start, just wondering where the forum peeps are showing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't know much about conformation personally but I have a few friends that show american bulldogs. They show at UKC events and I am pretty sure Dogos are recognized by the UKC as well. There are events in Canada where you can participate so you should check it out and see if that would work for you.
There are some rarities shows in Canada, this link might help but there are few shows you can do conformation from and I am not certain if Fila's are on the rarities listing. http://rbcswo.hypermart.net/ UKC does have some shows I think a lot tend to typically be performance shows up here but there might be a few conformation. There might be some CFC shows that if the breed is FCI recognized you can show at but I am not certain on that.
