X large crates

So my little guy really likes his crate. I'm looking for bigger ones or nicer an there doesn't seem to be much selection. Was wondering if any of you had any links to some nice crate/ inside cage type. Door won't be closed. Just so when he gets bigger I have one and he still has a doggy cave to hang out in.

Or is this something i transition into a dog bed on the floor.

I always crate train my dogs but then transition them to a bed when they are fully house trained and trusted to be loose in the house. My boy is 6 months and he sleeps on a bed beside my bed at night, but during the day if I'm at work or go out he's blocked in my mud room where he has another bed. I used a crate until recently but even the x-tra large crate seemed small to be locked in while I was away from home.

I pick up my Bullmastiff puppy this week, i'm pretty experienced with crate training, but this is my first Giant breed. I already bought a Giant sized Kennel from Craigslist, but I need a way to make it smaller while he is a puppy.

With my German Shepherd, I would just put a laundry basket in the kennel to cut the size in half. A laundry basket wont make much of a difference in the Giant sized kennels.

What, if anything have you guys used to make the kennel smaller? I cant' find anything from Petmate in the way of kennel dividers.

Here is the kennel I bought for $75 on Craigslist. They sell for $250 plus at pet stores.

I've never used a divider, I have a smaller kennel for when the pup is first brought home then when that seems too small (which, believe me isn't very long)I just move to the larger kennel.

With kaz...his giant wire cage just seemed small for him so we build a 6x6 dog run in our basement and guess what.....he never uses it...well not yet anyway...he sleeps in my room or downstairs in the living room at night. I bought a baby crib mattress for him and it is perfect size....when we go out it is never really for that long so he is allowed to stay free in the house and fingers crossed....he has been good so far however when I go out for longer periods if time..I will put him downstairs in his run with a bone and he seems happy. I did come home the other day after putting him there and the little hudini got out! It only has a latch lock so ill be securing that better next time.

We had a giant sized airline crate like the one LLJohnson10 linked to for our first big pup. He was ~190lbs as an adult. We took the door off when he was ready to have full roam of the house, but left the crate next to our bed. He slept in it with his head and paws hanging out the door at least half the time - the rest of the time he'd be sprawled out on the floor at the end of the bed. He loved his crate.

We started Denna in that same crate - made it smaller by filling half of it with a pillow from our bed. She technically had room to subdivide (b-room at front, sleeping quarters in back) but she never did. She only had one accident in the crate, and that was my fault for leaving her too long, too soon.

Since she outgrew that crate before we could let her have run of the house (due to the tendency to destroy items, not due to any accident issues), we invested in a wire "condo" for her - the 54" wire crate. It takes up a good portion of our living room - it wouldn't fit in the bedroom at all. She only went in there when we left the house. We leave the door closed when we're home, just because there's no space for the door to be open in... she still will go into the crate, no problem, since that's where she gets the BEST treats (major stuffed kong and/or busy buddy toys).

Now that Denna is trustworthy with full run of the house, and hasn't destroyed anything in months, we could probably get rid of the crate all together. But, it did come in handy when we had guests for dinner the other day and she wouldn't calm down. Instead of banishing her to the bedroom, we put her in the crate, where she just curled up and finally relaxed.
