My Ex (Robin) and her GF (Alexis my other Ex) came up this weekend for some party time and hiking. They usually stay with me or rent the place next door. Neither have seen Jade since she was a small puppy. Robin is not an animal person at all as she travels from Saudi to here and other places so she just doesn't understand having pets. Alex loves my dogs and she lives just off the mountain and has always got along with my dogs. Well Robin thought she could just open the gate and walk right in. I was in the house and the door was open and Jade had her cornered against the gate before I knew what was going on. I got things calmed down and showed Jade that they were okay and we went about normal life. Well until Robin tried to move Jade off the couch. I watched the whole thing from the kitchen, Robin came out of the shower with a towel drying her hair and almost sat on Jade who was sitting next to Alex on the couch. Jade growled at her just a little. So Robin got an ugly voice on and tells her "Move dog, or I will move you" I was already in motion and was able to sit Jade before anything happened but it was close. Jade had got up with teeth bared and growling. I explained to Robin that she has no authority over "JADE" and she could not treat her like one of her servants. I told her to use her name and and to not be demanding to her. I asked Alex to have Jade move and all the did was say Jade and pointed to the far side of the couch and Jade scooted over. Took all of Saturday to get Robin to understand that this was not some street dog she was dealing with but they finally came to terms and Jade let her have some space in our house. But she was really pissed about giving up her spot on the bed. I actually had to crate her for most of the night.
