Council to Set Up Dog Committee

    Posted Monday October 18, 2010

Sheboygan, Wis. (WHBL) - The Sheboygan City Council is expected to take up a resolution when it meets Monday night to establish a Special Committee on Regulation of Dangerous Dogs. Aldermen decided to go that route two weeks ago after several hundred people showed up at city hall to protest an ordinance which would have targeted specific breeds of dogs such as Pit Bulls for special regulations like fencing and insurance liability. The council voted to kill that ordinance and directed officials to set up the committee consisting of city representatives, dog owners and officials of the Humane Society who will come up with another ordinance to regulate vicious dogs.
