Interesting. I know of some breeders that are crossing the two types for a "middle of the road dog" with some nice and not so nice results. Besides the over done face the dogs from Europe much resemble the dogs from the 1800s as far as body structure.

Is funny, I have only seen very few German Mastiff's then suddenly I seem to see them everywhere, lol. We had one in at work today, was great I got to hang out and play with him for a few hours at the salon. He couldn't fit in any of our kennels so hung out on the floor
He was our mascot for the day
