Paw butter

I noticed that Kahlua's little paws are ridiculously dry and scratchy so I ordered some paw butter off of Amazon... I just looked for the best reviews and went with that. Do any of you use the paw butter? Is there anything I should know about this? Do you have favorite brands?

Most of the ones I've seen have natural ingredients. It's the time of year that I work in my workroom making product - cold process soap, lotions, butters, etc. I might see what I can come up with for my guys. I was thinking that in addition to some butters I might add some wax for the winter.

I have musher's wax. I don't use it enough. My dog's pad wears out before the wax does anything to help. I recently ordered derma paws to get the little dog to stop licking his feet from allergies.

Hector, the ingredients for Dermapaw are almost exactly what I was thinking. If I use vitamin E for the tocotrienol and tocophpherol portion, I should be pretty close. I have all of the other ingredients in my workroom. What is the consistency? Is it scoopable or more firm, like a hard butter?

I have not received it yet. I will let you know.

I got something called Paw Magic: 100% Organic and Natural Dog Paw Butter from Amazon. It had great reviews.
I got it over the weekend but have not used it yet as Kahlua has an appointment with the groomer today.
It has been raining here lately and our backyard is a mud pit and she is absolutely caked in mud from head to toe and in desperate need of a bath.
Since her claws are in desperate need of a trim I figured it makes sense to let them do the whole thing. Once she gets back that paw butter is going on right away.

I noticed Denna's paws got a LOT softer and smoother when I started giving her a Vit E supplement. It's hard to over do Vit E, so it might be worth a try. I give Denna one human Vit E pill a week, but I'm thinking about increasing that to 2/week. Denna's raw-fed and eats a lot of frozen sardines - which is why I started with the Vit E... I read (in dogsnaturallymagazine) that high amounts of fish oil can displace Vit E, so you need to supplement Vit E if you feed a lot of fish.

If the temp is cold it is pretty solid kind of like beeswax lip balm, but at room temp say 60 degree F then it feels like butter and yes this stuff has emu oil in it which is a strange ingredient to me lol.
