Shipping Puppies

The Breeder said he's never had any issues either, and he ships national and international as well. I just got a little nervous with all the recent attention the airlines are getting in regards to shipping dogs. Thanks for sharing , it made me feel better about him being shipped. :)
Yeah that's understandable. But at least he's coming soon! That's a pretty awesome feeling.
Is this for the CAO pup you posted pics of?

Yes it is for the CAO. We get him in about 16 days. I'm very happy that he will be home soon. I actually told the kids I better catch up on my sleep, lots of training to do. :)

Your fur baby should be ok.... And I'm sure you'll be at the airport before the plane lands. This has got to be so exciting for you. How long now before the baby lands

It is exciting. He turns 8 weeks on my birthday April 20. So 16 days. The breeder typically ships them pretty much right when they turn 8 weeks. I'm going to ask him a date when he sends me his 6 week update

I used a service called Chelsea's Chariot. They are family owned. I was really nervous about it but after a drill down I felt much better. They use a Van so the volume of Pups is not bad. There are 2 family members so 1 drives and the other care for the passengers. I live in Texas but I do believe they travel Nationally.

I've had most shipped to me. My DDB was the longest flight and I believe it was Continental Airlines, my daughter and I were an hour early at the airport we were so excited. The baked beans Golden retriever was on the same flight as they were waiting also. As soon as the crate came, I took him out and walked through the airport to the car. The dog was absolutely fine, sitting there like nothing at exactly his 8th week birthday.

That being said, I would worry much more about a grown dog with strength and a bunch of airline employees. We have been planning out multi stop flight for Nessa and we have decided to lock the cage and put signs in 3 languages Do not open. As they usually open to let the dogs out during changed flights which almost always turns into a news cycle with a tougher breed. The cage is going to be a mess but better that than having the dog shot on the tarmac.

Everyone I know that has exotic type breeds has the puppies shipped in with no problems. The only problem which is a bad one is if the plane gets delayed on the runway and its hot out, I remember a flight losing 26 military GSDs for that.

Thanks Steven. I'm glad he is being shipped in Spring, the weather should be nice. I hope all goes well with Nessa when she ships.

Well, I have never shipped a dog as well, as it is just kind of awkward for me, but I have a lot of friends that did it, and most of them told me the same thing as Nik, if you are shipping a puppy, never use United! For the same reason, their track record is very very bad actually. One of my friends is constantly shipping dogs from China, as he wants to "save them and give a better life". He told me that even the chinese postal services are better when it comes to track china post package than United and many other companies.

Wonder if the airlines who accepts dogs in the actual passenger seat also accepts solo pet traveler (but I gues that's not feasible without a companion and would cost so so much).
