    Chances of extreme underbite? Help!

I have a Bordeaux couple who had puppies 4 months ago. We didn't expect it to happen, since we usually separate them when the female is rutting. The father has an extreme underbite, showing his teeth all the time. We kept one of the puppies. I noticed it has the same alignment of his teeth as...

Looking for good books and or videos on training the DdB breed specifically. I'm not looking for show training but more just every day family dog training. Thanks!

    Dogues Can Track!

I've been training my DDB for tracking for the past year (we started just before the end of last year's season) and my 16-month old DDB girl Barrett just passed her TD3 test to gain her TD tracking title! She did it in fine style too, very focussed and methodical. So proud of my clever girl! :D

    2yo intact male recently marking

We have brought our boy to family and friends' homes since we got him, but I've seen him mark, inside a home, more than once recently. He is 2 next month and intact, we may keep him intact, unsure yet. Is this a phase, something I can reverse? Or am I doomed? We have plans to have a friend...

Hello everybody, my DDB "puppy" is turning soon 9 months old.We do a lot of walking and hiking alone and with a bunch of other dogs as well. She is quite energetic for a DDB, but she has sometimes a limp on her front legs (have it checked out regularly, according to the vet it will disappear...

healthy DDB but sometimes very picky eater

For past few months, our raw fed 1 1/2 yr old turns his nose up at meal time at least three times per week. He is a generally a non-exciteable dog and never showed a ton of enthusiasm when we put down his food. Lately, I sometimes add some sardines or organic chicken broth to food but don't...

AKC/ANKC Tracking with a Dogue De Bordeaux

I was already starting my English Staffy on tracking training (because we've got some amazing trackers locally who are willing to train us) and so when my DDB puppy Barrett arrived, I decided that she may as well join in the fun. There definitely hasn't been a DDB tracking competitively in my...

How much weight do French Mastiffs gain between their 1st and 2nd year of age?

Apollo is 10 months old, he will be 11months in 2 weeks. Apollo weights 105 now and I am wondering how much more weight does the french mastiff typically gain between 12-24 months ? I am sure the blood line and other factors play a role but judging from his current weight being 105 and 23 1/2...

I am proud to introduce our pup Duke (Dukey or Bo Bo as my wife calls him). Duke just turned 8 months and weighs an even 100 lbs. He is great fun and listens pretty well for an untrained dog. I bought the book "Teach your dog 100 English words" before I got him and it has been a big help...

We adopted our DDB last August at 8 months, and love her to pieces. Since we've had her, we have yet to meet another DDB besides her uncle that she was staying with. So finding this forum feels like I've struck gold, somewhere to share and learn about all the unique quirks and quarks of...

    Companion for my new Dogue?

Hi everybody! This is my first post here! My fiance and I were talking about getting a DDB (mainly I was and she just agreed). After doing tons of research, this is definitely the breed for me. One thing I'm worried about, though, is drill. I'm currently deployed and return home in May. Once we...
