10 month old DDB with 8 week old French bulldog

Hi all, we have a gorgeous 10 month old DDB and yesterday I got an 8 week old french bulldog. My Bordeaux is called claude and our new puppy is called cliff.
Claude is very excited by cliff and I worry that his paw slam will hurt him. During introduction I held cliff to claude and he licked him, nuzzled him (but a bit roughly) and he rolled over and exposed his belly. All sounds lovely but claude is so big and he gets too excited its almost like he is getting ready to rough play with him. Claude doesn't realise his own strength and poor cliff is just so small right now.
I just wanted to know if anyone had been through anything similar and had any advice?
I feel like I've made a mistake as this is not how I had expected things to turn out.
Thank you in advance x

Welcome to the forum lisa! I don't think you've made a mistake at all. Any pics? I would just keep an eye on them, and if things appear to get too excited and rough you may just have to separate them for awhile...an excellent opportunity for crate training!! I'm sure others will weigh in with their experiences; this is just my own opinion based on my own experiences :)

Hi Cindy,
your post has just made me feel so much better. I went on another dog forum earlier and some people were very sceptical about what I had done. I should have come on here really being that we are all DDB owners and do not misunderstand them like so many people often do.
Crate training not going so well, Cliff hates it and Claude thinks its for him!!
