(TN dogues) after reading all that it makes me think maybe a year of research isn't enough, I found my ddb on eBay classifieds and he cost me $1000, THe lady that sold him to me told me she was letting the puppies go to there new home at 6 weeks because it was just too much stress on her. I went to her home and I met both parents of the pup the male didn't really want to be bothered, he wasn't evil or anything they just had him in a large kennel but the mom walked right up to me and let me pet her,I now regret not spending more time getting to know these people because I did not ask the important questions she didn't really ask me important questions either, It was more like a ok pay a deposit ( whatever you can afford) " i ended up paying half. I wrote her a check and when the puppy had to be picked up i needed cash, When I got home I noticed my puppy wasn't the same pup I picked when I first put my deposit down but whatever I adored him just the same. My pup seems fine now I don't see any major problems, He,s about 15 weeks now.what I found to be strange was when I went to pick him up I asked the women about records of his first shots which she said he would have, she hands me a glass veil and said "when you go to the vet just give them this and tell them that's what shots he was given" The weirdest thing I have ever heard of. Am I screwed? Like later on in life will I have problems, I'm super nervous after reading this thread,

Rye: yes no maybe

If you mean is he guaranteed to have problems due to his background? No, but the risk is higher. Leaving mom and sibs that early means socialization and some training may be harder. You probly have no way of finding out if any health testing was done, but when he's two you can have it done on him to see how he'll stack up. Assuming you took him to a vet and got the rest of his puppy shots whether he got the first one or not is a null issue honestly.

Yea I took him to the vet within the first week of having him, he,s healthy and up to date with his shot now. I explained it to the vet about the shot situation and he said he's just going to assume he had no prior shots, He does sort of have an attitude problem like if I try to move him from a situation he sort of growls like he doesn't want to be bothered but I just wrote that off as a mastiff thing, I do correct it with a firm no. I guess in this situation I just have to make sure I'm constant with his training and keep on putting in hard work and check back with you guys in a year or so to see how he turns out lol
