My puppy came home last week without food! So we had to make an abrupt change from Kirkland (breeder) to holistic select large breed adult. His poops aren't form yet. Food or adjustment?anyone out there feed holistic select?

An abrupt change will almost always equal diarrhea or soft stools. Ideally any dog should be transitioned slowly from one food to another.

I'd guess adjustment. With an 180 degree change in food, you'll be seeing soft serve for a little while.

I definately need to change Daisy from the Wellness Large Breed Puppy that the vet recommended to something else. She has loose stool and the inside of one of her ears is red and looks like a skin rash. I'm thinking she is having an allergy to the food. I've looked at Earthborn Holistic and the feeding guidelines indicate 4 1/4 cups for a dog 95-110 lbs. Seriously? Daisy is getting 6 cups of the wellness and they only call for 5 1/4 but she is ALWAYS starving. She eats salad when she goes into the yard (shrubs mostly). Isn't there a quality food that will leave her satisfied?!? This is crazy.

I like the Earthborn Holisitscs so far nice firm poops no sweet smell. However I was doing some reading and I saw something about it causing liver damage in dogs.

Earthborn also has more calories per cup, at least the Great Plains formula does than Wellness Large Breed Puppy.

I'd be interested in seeing where you saw this?

The only thing I'm finding regarding anything liver related is in regards to menadione which is no longer in it.

Yea it's something that was used when the line first came out and as soon as they heard people weren't happy about it they took it out.
