My neo just hit 50lbs and he is only 12 weeks old. Should I slow down on his feeding or just let nature take its course

It's on course to be a big 200lb blob which isn't good.
Work it, exercise it intensively, treadmills, weight pull, something to make the dog a good representation of their kind.

Are you feeding him over what he should be, if not then his weight should bslance out as he grows, i dont agree to over exercise at his age, keep him fit

Big blob naw I think that's going a little to far. My guy eats the daily recommended amount of food and exercises normally with walks in backyard and chasing of my little ones. Treadmills and all that other crap is not good for this breed. Especially at this age. Their joints are very sensitive. He is well proportioned and vet says he looks great. So thanks again for your input.

Yes he is eating the recommended amount and to your point my vet agreed verbatim to what you posted. Vet just believes he will be a pretty big neo. Thanks for your reply

So the dog is so big its joints will shatter like glass? It's not a wolf, it's a gripping dog, it'll live.

No the dog isnt so big, the owner has just got some common sense not to weight pull and over exercise at a young age, im sure 8t gets ample exercise. Yes it will live, a long happy life im sure.

It's not common sense jackass, are you seeing something I'm not? Did you know you can live to 120 years old while being a serial cigarette smoker and not die? Wow! This means cigarette smokers live long happy lives.
What do you mean it's not big? At 12 weeks it is nearly half the weight of an adult dog.
For all I care the dog could choke on its own slobber and die on a treadmill, if it's not even good enough to do that, it can go fuck itself.
You guys must really really really have a thing for show dogs, because that's what the OPs dog is, and I guarantee you the OPs dog sucks and it would get torn to pieces by any fellow bulldog that's actually worth something.

For a start who are you calling jackass, iv had 4 ccs, my eldest was a big pup, we didnt put him on a treadmill, we fed him properly, exercised him properly, he grew into a proper weight, super athletic, no joint proplems in his old age, and not one of my dogs are overweight. And no im not into show dogs,
All i was saying was at 12 weeks you do not over do mastiffs. And i certainly care if a dog dies on a treadmill just so i can say ohh look how muscular my pup is.
And what do you mean about the ops dog getting torn to peices by a bulldog, dogs shouldnt fight. So i really hope you dont mean that.
Everyone can have an opinion on this forum, just be polite about it.

My remark about the bulldog was talking about how the Neapolitan Mastiff is indeed a bulldog. A ruined one at that, but at their core, Neapolitan Mastiff, Presa Canario, Cane Corso etc. etc. are all the same dog, slightly adapted for different regions. The Neapolitan Mastiff has the best spirit of all of them but their ruined body gives up on them, hence my suggestion to actually do something with it. They're inherently animal fighting dogs, and I guarantee you a Neapolitan Mastiff like this-1662237586549.png1662237590538.png1662237598130.png would absolutely tear that little mutt to shreds in a long grueling battle of durability.
Bulldogs love fighting, but more importantly they should be able to do something with their lives or be in good physical shape. That dog will not be, very excessive skin everywhere in places it does not need to be. Bulldogs should be muscular, but of course you guys are used to looking at morbidly obese dogs that have failing bodies but good hearts.
There's a reason the Neapolitan Mastiff is very popularly used for crosses, it has one of the most horrible bodies and getting a good one is like searching for a needle in a barn full of haystacks, but they make for great Bandog-types. I've seen Nea x EBT and Nea x APBT and Nea x etc. etc. and they're actually good, I guarantee you this 50lb 12 week old obese dog is not good.

I totally agree with you , dogs are being ruined today, iv had 4 ccs, my youngest is 18 weeks old, hes 25kg and not got an ounce of fat on him, we exercise, train, and feed him good food, my 7 year old cc was poisoned by someone that wanted to enter my property, we lost him last december, he was the most agile fast dog. Indonunderstand your anger with seing dogs that have no life being owerweight, the ccs are getting very popular 8n my country, now we are seeing xxl and rare colours, its a disater 8n the making.
All im asking is on the forum is getbyour point over but do it in a way that people will listen, i can assure you sir im no jackass lol, you have some passion in the health of the breeds and i thank you for that.
